Caring For Your Kitchenware
Most people use wooden kitchenware for dry foods, salads, or cutting meat but you can definitely use your wooden items for hot meals, meals that are saucy or even cereal. Just keep in mind that some foods (berries, curries, tomatoes, etc.) can leave stains.
Cleaning:
Wash using a mild dish soap, then thoroughly dry your kitchenware immediately after use. Doing so eliminates germs and bacteria, as well as, helps prevent foods from staining the wood.
Do not soak your kitchenware in water or put them in the dishwasher. This will cause it to warp and crack.
Protecting:
Every month, restore your kitchenware with beeswax. This will make sure that your wooden kitchenware maintains its water repellency.
Do not store your kitchenware in the fridge. The additional moisture in your fridge will also cause your items to warp and crack.
Do not microwave your wooden kitchenware. The microwave will dry out your kitchenware which will also lead to cracking.
